Within the team of about 20 there is a good understanding of the performance requirements of Aircrew footwear and a wealth of knowledge of the physical and chemical properties required of the materials incorporated into the boots to enable them to withstand the demands of the boot manufacturing process and the rigours of wear.
Experience in the assessment of the fit of boots and in planning and managing field trials to assess comfort, function and durability, including the collation of data from questionnaires and its analysis is another strength.
Last but not least is the production capability to consistently produce footwear to a high specification combining comfort under normal conditions on the ground and in the air, with the properties required to enable the wearer to survive an emergency and evade capture in a hostile environment.
